Stefano Fante — Founder
Thirty years of end-to-end experience designing electronics, firmware and software for certified medical devices. Specialized in low-noise analog acquisition, real-time systems, and cross-domain integration between electronics, optics and mechanics.
MSc in Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Padua, 1996. During his university years (1992-1996) he worked as Unix/Linux System Manager on the student lab workstations and in parallel as a freelance embedded developer on Motorola HC08 microcontrollers in Assembly.
In 1996 he joined COROB S.p.A. (Modena) as Electronic & Firmware Engineer, working on benchtop and industrial tinting systems. In those years he wrote from scratch a bare-metal RTOS on Motorola 68332, including scheduler, context switching and timing-critical routines in Assembly.
In 2000 he moved to Nidek Technologies S.r.l. (Padova), the Italian subsidiary of the Japanese global leader in ophthalmic instrumentation, as Project Manager Ophthalmic Systems. He worked on microperimeter, fundus camera, Scheimpflug camera, ConfoScan, real-time eye tracking and pupil detection, in close collaboration with optical designers.
In 2005 he co-founded Inventis S.r.l. (Padova) and served as CTO until 2022. He saw it grow into one of the global references in audiology and vestibular diagnostics, with products distributed internationally.
At Inventis he personally led the development of 20+ medical devices — clinical and portable audiometers, tympanometers, VRA systems, VNG masks, evoked-potentials systems, medical CMOS cameras — through CE marking, FDA 510(k), and international certifications in China, South Korea and LATAM. He directed an R&D team of 20+ engineers across hardware, firmware, software and project management.
In 2018 he founded STLINE S.r.l. (ST-LINE) in Padua as an independent software and electronics development company, with a model focused on a small number of clients and complex projects. In 2023 the company relocated its registered office to Treviso.
In 2025 he qualified as Competent Acoustic Technician (ENTECA n. 12928, Autonomous Province of Bolzano), extending the company’s technical scope from medical electronics to environmental and architectural acoustics.
Architectures covered end-to-end
From early 8-bit microcontrollers (HC08, Z80) and 16/32-bit MCUs (68000, 68332) in Assembly and C, to DSP and RISC systems on Nidek ophthalmic instrumentation, up to modern ARM Cortex-M (STM32, NXP) and embedded Linux architectures. FPGA architectures and heterogeneous SoCs for recent projects in opto-electronics and machine vision.
